PerformCare NJ is the point of entry for youth who need behavioral and mental health care services under the NJ Children’s System of Care (NJ CSOC). When a youth is facing challenges to their functioning and well-being, finding services and support can be overwhelming. We are committed to helping you access the right services for your child.

After completing an initial intake interview, please request follow up from AAA Counseling and Consulting Services to complete a biopsychosocial assessment.

AAA Mentoring

AAA Counseling and Consulting Services offers a Mentoring Program launched in 2020 which was specially designed to promote positive living. Our program matches youth and young adults with caring individuals whose aim is to assist young people recognize their innate strengths and abilities. In our Mentoring program, youth are carefully matched with adults with whom they can develop a caring and positive relationship. Our mentors provide support, counsel, friendship, reinforcement of positive behaviors and constructive examples, all while engaging the youth in a variety of ways or settings. Mentoring services may consist of but are not limited to: assisting the youth in the development of life skills, job shadowing, educational mentoring, exposing youth to recreational activities and/or guiding youth in doing volunteer work.

Private Mentorship

Mentorship is the influence, guidance, or direction given by a mentor over time (long-term) to a mentee. Our mentoring will be focused on a learning relationship, generally focused on long term mentee development. The primary purpose of our mentoring services will be to encourage personal growth; through skills building, knowledge and understanding of goals. Our effective mentorship will provide aspects of both psychosocial and life goals support, and may include role modeling, advising, and helping mentees develop a supportive network personally and professionally.

Three types of mentoring will be available

- Traditional one-on-one Mentoring – In person

- Distance Mentoring: Virtual on Zoom or Teams

- Group Mentoring: Mentor with a group of mentees (in-person or virtual)

Coaching

Our coaching methods is primarily focused on assisting our clients with their current life goals (short-term personal or professional). As a coach we will provide guidance to our clients on their goals to help them to reach their full potential. Additionally, our coaching will include training, counselling/instructing individuals or groups the ways to develop skills to enhance their productivity or overcome performance problems. The main purpose of our coaching will be maximizing performance by helping our clients accomplish their peak potential such as developing leadership skills, creating self-discipline skills, building a self-belief system through the application of motivation techniques, and improving self-awareness.

- Group Coaching: Mentor with a group of other mentees (in-person or virtual)
